WHO WE ARE

Independent radio rooted in Portland, Oregon. Est. 2025.

Roses and Bridges Radio was born out of a simple belief — that independent music deserves a real home. Not a playlist. Not an algorithm. A radio station with personality, purpose, and people behind it who genuinely care about the culture.

We launched quietly in the Fall of 2025, built from scratch by two music veterans who have spent their careers in the trenches of this industry — DJing, producing, hosting, and building community through music.

We prioritize independent funk, soul, jazz, r&b, hip hop and spiritual music on Sundays. We platform artists that mainstream radio consistently overlooks. And we do it for a Portland community that has always known the difference between music and product.

The People Behind the Station

dj klyph

DJ Klyph is a cultural curator, selector, and storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of Hip Hop heritage and community connection. Known for his deep crates, intentional programming, and smooth yet commanding presence behind the decks, Klyph approaches every set as a narrative — one built on respect for the past, awareness of the present, and responsibility to the culture.

Beyond the turntables, Klyph is the creator and host of the long-running radio show Welcome to the Neighborhood and the podcast series Klyph Notes, where he documents Hip Hop culture through in-depth conversations with artists, creatives, and community leaders. That same respect for story, artists, and legacy informs his DJ approach — every blend has purpose, every record has meaning.

dj ambush

With a music career spanning over 30 years, I’ve worn many hats. DJ, Event Producer, Art Curator, Podcaster, Radio Personality and Host. Those talents have taken me up and down the east coast (where I’m from) and has found me a home in Portland, Oregon.

I’m driven by a desire to connect with community across all intersections, and a passion to see people enjoying themselves. Those motivations weren’t clearly defined when I started my journey as a music collector at the age of 14. Creating “pause tapes” for my friends and family, I became the go to person when it came to providing music for the functions. By my senior year in high school I started collecting vinyl.

Consistency doesn’t mean playing the same records each week. But giving a quality performance every time I pick up the headphones.

our mission

To create a home for independent music and the people who make it. To build a radio station that feels like community — familiar voices, intentional music, and a genuine connection between the station and its listeners. To prove that independent radio, done right, still matters.

Rooted in Portland

Portland is a city with a deep and proud music culture. We were built here, we broadcast from here, and we serve this community first. Roses and Bridges Radio is Portland's station — for the artists making music in this city and the listeners who have always supported them.
